IT and accounting hiring in D FW could increase in Q4

The hiring of CFOs and chief information officers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is expected to increase in the fourth quarter, according to surveys from Robert Half International and its technology subsidiary.

The report is published from data compiled during surveys of 200 CIOs and 200 CFOs working in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The latest index indicates that 16 percent of the surveyed CIOs expect to hire new staff members in the fourth quarter. Only 4 percent of CIOs anticipate personnel reductions in the quarter.

“Organizations are directing recruitment efforts toward professionals who can provide essential services — such as help desk and networking — and support the launch of Web 2.0 based functionality,” said Katherine Spencer Lee, executive director of Robert Half Technology.

CFOs report similar expectations for the fourth quarter, with 8 percent of those surveyed expecting to add staff and only 2 percent anticipating staff reductions in the quarter, the Robert Half survey on financial hiring said.

Robert Half says, in particular, accounting departments need staff members to serve as senior accountants, financial analysts and internal auditors.
