Business Finance UK returns to commercial lending

Business Finance UK Ltd (BFL) has confirmed it is to return to commercial lending in a move that is expected to boost confidence in the sector.

BFL was active in the market a number of years ago and it believes its return is a sign that there is confidence in the growing demand for specialist commercial lending.

The firm has appointed Commercial Mortgage Solutions to run its sales processing centre and to provide exclusive distribution for their lending.

Richard Gardner, chairman of BFL, said the timing of its entry into the commercial lending environment has always been of paramount importance.

He explained: “We did not want to compete with the high volume lenders. We are delighted to be working with Commercial Mortgage Solutions, a company we have known for a number of years, and whose experience and service levels are of a very high standard. I firmly believe that we have the right lending criteria for the current market place.”

Adrian Coles, managing director of Commercial Mortgage Solutions, said BFL’s re-entry perfectly complemented the range of lenders it regularly used. He added: “We are entering the new world of commercial lending at a time when interest and demand are growing. In the second quarter of this year our enquiries and applications are on the increase. Our aim now is to work closely with our distribution partners and introducers to help them enjoy the benefits of adding commercial loans to their portfolios.”
