M T ahead of pack on SBA loans

M&T Bank has surpassed the $20 million mark for loans approved year to date through Small Business Administration programs.

As of June 30, M&T had approved 101 loans in the Buffalo region valued at $9.5 million through the SBA's 7(a) program. Another $12.5 million was approved through the 504 bricks and mortar program.

With 28 lenders participating in the region, a total of $65 million in loans have been approved through both programs during the same period, including 368 loans for $34.3 million through 7(a); and 19 loans for $31.9 million through the 504 program.

First Niagara Bank was close behind for 7(a) loans, having approved 60 loans worth $7.2 million, and five loans worth $2.5 million through the 504 loan program.

During fiscal 2007, lenders in the Buffalo district approved 604 loans valued at nearly $58 million through the 7(a) program; and 32 loans for $22.6 million through the 504 program.
