Hornbeck CEO is bullish on the offshore supply vessel market
Todd Hornbeck, chairman and CEO of Hornbeck Offshore Services, is bullish on the market outlook for vessels serving the offshore oil industry.
"The dynamics in the market are even more compelling now than in 1997" when the company was founded, Hornbeck told a standing room only crowd of investors at the Burkenroad Reports Investment Conference this morning.
Hornbeck said drilling in the Gulf of Mexico is accelerating, in part because of the advent of new technologies. Hornbeck also said he anticipates a shortage of offshore supply vessels in the next few years.
Hornbeck, based in Covington, operates a fleet of vessels serving the energy industry. The company is in the midst of a vessel construction program.
The Burkenroad conference is being held this morning at the Sheraton in New Orleans.
