Financial Planning Week kicks off today and the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) is hoping to educate consumers about the need to keep an eye on the pennies.

But this week is also a chance for financial planners to explain what they do and every day this week an adviser will be talking about why they think financial planning is important.
